Tips and tricks

Enable developer options for usb debugging:

  • Go to Settings>> System>> About device and tap on Build number seven times until it says 'you are now a developer'. Go to Settings>> System>> Developer options and enable USB debug.

Enter into Recovery mode:

  • Switch off the phone
  • Hold Home, Volume Up buttons and press Power button for about five seconds to enter Recovery Mode.

Enter into Download mode (For Odin):

  • Switch off the phone
  • Hold down the Home and Volume Down buttons and press the Power button for about two seconds until a warning screen appears. Press the Volume Up button to enter Download mode.

But keep in mind that the exe files are not digitally signed with the Microsoft certificate, and so might get picked up by antivirus programmes and deleted on the first run. If you run into any trouble head over to the XDA development thread to know more about the toolkit.
