The heaviest snowfall in 60 years has hit Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank from Ramallah to Hebron.

The slopes of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights welcomed the blizzard with locals flocking to ski.

Sections of the main highway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were shut for a few hours because of the snowstorm but were reopened after the thaw.

Forecasters said that the Negev desert might even experience rare snowfall on Friday.
