Colombian actress Sofía Vergara has revealed that she loves making money.

The 40-year-old actress, who is on the cover of Glam Belleza Latina's issue, is the highest-paid TV actress in America and made an estimated $30m last year.

"I'm not ashamed to say I love making money. I like business and the truth is I save way more than I spend. I invest. I plan for the future. I have a special eye for opportunities and work harder than anyone might expect. It is fun to shock people with my business ideas. Most people just see me as Gloria," she said.

Vergara was recently named the new face of the Head & Shoulders hair-care brand. She is also the face of CoverGirl and has contracts with Diet Pepsi, Rooms to Go and Synthroid.

The Modern Family star, who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her marriage to Joe Gonzalez, and is engaged to businessman Nick Loeb, said she has capitalised on people's notions of the sexy bimbo.

"For me, it's so clear. There are millions of hardworking Latinos in the U.S., doing their jobs, willing to try harder to succeed, and taking good care of their kids and family. We all spend, buy, participate heavily in this economy, and support each other. So I am one of them. I made my crossover, but I am still 100 percent a Latina mom."

Meanwhile, the Golden Globes nominations have been announced and Vergara has been nominated for the fourth time for best supporting actress in a TV series for her portrayal of Gloria on ABC's hit comedy.

"My Golden Globes are still going strong! That's why I don't sag," she said. "Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this nomination and for nominating the cast of 'Modern Family.' It is truly an honour."
