Where to watch live

The match is set to start at 1pm BST. Live coverage of the tournament will be on BBC One and BBC Two.

Overview

Fresh from his maiden French Open triumph, Wawrinka will be looking to carry himself into the second week of the tournament in what will be his toughest test thus far in the tournament. The third seed was not at his best in the second round but managed to get the better of Victor Estrella Burgos in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to open up this clash.

The duo have not met each other in a competitive tournament in over three years, but the Spaniard has a slight advantage over Wawrinka in head to heads over the years. With Nadal crashing out of the tournament already, it is a great chance for Wawrinka to secure his maiden Wimbledon title, but has to be at his very best throughout to bring his ambitions to fruition.

Meanwhile, Verdasco made hard work of his second round match against Dominic Thiem, taking him to five sets for the second time in a row in the tournament. He beat Thiem with a break in the final set to finish the game at 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 which got him into the third round. This is the first time that the pair will meet outside clay and given Wawrinka's momentum, he is an overwhelming favourite to make it into the fourth round.
