Star Wars Rebels season 2 will return with new episodes in September, and the upcoming episode is titled The Lost Commanders.

According to a report, the episode features the return of the clone troopers CT-7567 (Rex), CC-3636 (Wolffe), and CC-5576-39 (Gregor) from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The episode will air in fall 2015.

Star Wars Rebels season 2 premiered with a one-hour episode on 20 June which featured Darth Vader taking on the ghost crew.

Fans witnessed the Sith Lord's skills when he single-handedly battled Kanan, Ezra, Sabine, Hera, and Zeb with just one lightsaber. He also displayed his unequalled piloting skills when he faced an entire rebel fleet on his own.

Here are a few things to expect next in the series:

1. Ezra's backstory: Ezra Bridger joined the rebel crew and began training as a Jedi under Kanan Jarrus' direction, but his backstory of what happened to his parents is not explained. In Star Wars Rebels season 1, it was shown that his parents Mira and Ephraim Bridger set up public broadcasting transmissions to speak out against the Empire's harsh rule but this would cost them their own lives.

In the episode titled Empire Day, Tseebo just revealed that he knows the fate of Ezra's parents — but it turns out that Ezra doesn't want to hear it. The upcoming episode could delve deeper into Ezra's backstory.

2. Ahsoka-Darth Vader face off: The season 2 premiere of Star Wars Rebels introduced a fan favourite character from Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano.

In The Clone Wars, fans saw Ahsoka as a teenager, where she served as Anakin Skywalker's (now Darth Vader) apprentice. After five seasons of fighting for the Galactic Republic during the bloody Clone Wars, Ahsoka decided to leave the Jedi Order after being framed for murder and put on trial in season 5.

Season 2 episode 1 featured a scene when Vader said, "The apprentice lives," sensing Tano's presence. The culmination of that scene, with Ahsoka's reaction to knowing that the man behind the darkness is her master, implies that fans can expect a big showdown between Ahsoka and her former master Anakin, later in season 2.

3. More rebels groups: Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, and Chopper make up the crew of the Ghost. Their mission is to thwart the Empire as much as possible and spark rebellion across the galaxy. But in the Star Wars universe there are a lot of other rebel groups, and sometime in the future we could see all of the rebel crew working together to defeat the Empire.

4. Obi-One-Kenobi may appear: By the end of the episode, Darth Vader has sensed that his one-time apprentice Ahsoka Tano, is still alive, and contacted the Emperor to report his discovery. The Emperor immediately sees it as an opportunity to find other Jedi.

"Such as Kenobi?" Vader asks.

As we saw Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars Rebels season 1 trailer, there is a possibility of him appearing again to help the rebel team, who are in a bit of a mess after Darth Vader destroyed their fleet.
