Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the TalkTalk data hack, which may have exposed four million customers. The Metropolitan Police said the teenager was detained on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences. He has been taken into custody in County Antrim where he is due to be interviewed.

MPs on 26 October said they would launch an inquiry into the data leak, which has left the internet and telephone provider reeling. The Met's cyber crime unit, the PSNI's cyber crime centre and the National Crime Agency are leading the investigation into the breach.

The company's CEO, Dido Harding, has remained combative in the wake of the data breach. A number of TalkTalk customers have claimed money has been taken from their bank accounts. They have also accused the firm of covering up the cyber-attack and not warning them about the breach soon enough.
