Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift has reportedly agreed to have a conversation with One Direction star Harry Styles over New Year.

The 24-year-old country singer turned pop star and Styles split last year in January, after dating for two months.

When the two parted ways, Swift wrote music about her big breakup, including the rumoured hit about Styles, I Knew You Were Trouble.

"She's not angry any more, but there's a huge part of her that thinks she should be smart and keep away from him," a source told Heat magazine.

"That's why she held off seeing him for so long. She's scared he'll break her heart again. That's why she's trying to take things slowly and see how serious he is about this.

"They're both going to be on the East Coast for New Year's Eve, hosting at Ryan Seacrest's telecast, so Taylor's said they can talk properly then. None of her friends are shocked by the reunion - Taylor never got over him."

It was previously revealed that Swift has been single since splitting up with Styles.

Meanwhile, The 1975 frontman Matthew Healy recently admitted that he is interested in Swift.

During an interview with Australian radio show Shazam Top 20, the 25-year-old revealed the two are in touch.

"I met Taylor Swift, that was really nice," Healy told host Angus O'Loughlin. "We exchanged numbers. Let's see what happens."
