The Teen Choice Awards 2016 will take place on 31 July in Inglewood, California, with stars such as Chris Evans, Shay Mitchell, Jennifer Garner and Ne-Yo dishing out selected accolades. On the night, Flo Rida and Charlie Puth will also be taking to the stage to showcase their latest tracks. Victoria Justice and John Cena will host the ceremony.

While the events of the show are a dead cert, the winners are not, so IBTimes UK attempts to predict who will walk away triumphant in these categories.

Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Out of all of the categories the Teen Choice Awards cover, this one is probably the most predictable when it comes to a possible winner. While Star Wars: The Force Awakens does stand a chance at earning the title of best sci-fi/fantasy of 2016, we think it will be Captain America: Civil War that actually bags the prize. Either way, Disney is winning...

Choice Movie: Breakout Star

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
We think it will be down to the Star Wars standouts when it comes to the award for best Breakout Star Lucasfilm Ltd

This past year has seen a huge number of up-and-coming actors nailing performances in their respective movies. Batman v Superman's Gal Gadot, Civil War's Tom Holland and Room's Brie Larson are just a few names that come to mind.

But among this year's nominees, we think the award for Breakout Star will either go to John Boyega or Daisy Ridley for The Force Awakens. That film had an enormous amount of pressure on it but the pair of them managed to get the audiences on their side and were worthy onscreen leads. Go Team Star Wars

Choice Music: Male Artist

Both Zayn and Drake have had hugely successful years, releasing their albums Mind Of Mine and Views to critical acclaim. But considering this is the Teen Choice Awards after all, and he did just beat out Drake's One Dance when it comes to UK number one... we're thinking that Justin Bieber will walk away victorious with this title.

Choice Music: Female Artist

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift might just nab the best Female Artist accolade yet Danny Moloshok/Reuters

Similarly to the previous category, our predicted winner here is more based on who we will think will get the most votes rather than who might have had the most success these past 12 months. While we'd be quick to say Beyonce is top of the category in regards to 2016, we wouldn't put it past Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift bagging the award.

Check out the list below of the main nominations of the night and come up with your own predictions when it comes to every category, before the awards ceremony airs live on Sunday 31 July from 5pm PDT.
