Robin van Persie
Could Tottenham be set to sign the next Robin van Persie?

Valmir Berisha has attracted interest from across Europe, his agent has confirmed, with the Tottenham Hotspur target being compared to the likes of Robin van Persie and Zlatan Ibrahimovich.

Berisha plays for Swedish side Halmstads and has been a standout star in the Under 17 World Cup, scoring a hat-trick against Argentina and a brilliant back heel goal against Honduras.

Tottenham have sent scouts for the 17-year-old and when asked if he is like Manchester United striker Robin van Persie his agent Anders Karlsson replied: "Yes, (he is like him), also like Ibrahimovic at times, a mix between the two."

Karlsson also confirmed that clubs in England have been making enquiries over Berisha's availability, insisting that he is a wanted man across Europe as he continues to shine for both club and country.

He explained: "No names, but I can say that I'm there are teams from England, Germany, Holland, Spain, Portugal and Italy ... of course... the interest is high from England, as well as the power of the pound."

Tottenham would certainly be interested in the teen who has been valued at around £500,000. The club have become known for bringing young players into the Premier League and giving them a chance to step up and if Berisha continues to prove his reputation to be correct he could be on the radar for more clubs than just Spurs in the coming months.

Meanwhile, for Tottenham's current striking line-up there have been a number of problems this season, with the side's league goal tally sitting on just nine after 11 matches.

They will be looking to re-discover their scoring touch against Manchester City this weekend with Roberto Soldado hoping to prove his worth since a big-money summer move to White Hart Lane and Jermain Defoe also looking to increase his tally, with the majority of his goals coming from European football so far.
