England has had its wettest January since 1766. Its southwest coast has been battered repeatedly by storms and thousands of acres of the Somerset Levels have been under water for weeks.

Flood levels are still rising and more rain is forecast for later this week.

Getty Images photographer Matt Cardy flew over the Somerset Levels to document the extent of the flooding.
