A teenage girl and her 12-week-old baby have been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

Katie Kelly, 15, and her daughter Kiah-Mae Boyle were missing for three days, prompting an urgent police appeal to establish their whereabouts.

Northamptonshire Police had been "increasingly concerned" for the welfare of the teen mum and her baby, who had not been seen since 7.30pm on Tuesday (7 July).

Katie's foster mother had appealed to the teenager to let police and family know she was safe.

The teenager's 18-year-old boyfriend Karl Boyle had also not been heard from since Tuesday night.

The pair were finally traced to an address in Northampton, where they are currently being looked after by officers.

The search for their whereabouts was expanded to include 30 officers from four different police forces, including West Midlands Police, Lincolnshire Police and British Transport Police.

Detective Chief Inspector Elliot Foskett, who led the search, thanked the public for the overwhelming response in helping to find them.
