Real Madrid have reportedly agreed terms with Benfica left-back Guilherme Siqueira, as they are ready to part with Manchester United target Fabio Coentrao at the end of the season.

The Spanish giants tried to sign Siqueria from Granada to pave the way to sell Coentrao to United on deadline day last summer.

However, even though the Brazilian left-back was happy to move to the Santiago Bernabeu the deal collapsed at the very last minute as he had already agreed to move to Benfica on loan and with the contract signed he couldn't renege.

But Spanish TV Show Tiki-Taka reports that both deals may finally happen in the next summer transfer window as Real Madrid have already completed the signing of Siqueira to cover Marcelo, with Coentrao ready to leave La Liga.

David Moyes is desperately looking to add a left-back to the squad and he may renew his efforts to sign the Real Madrid star.

Patrice Evra's contract is due to expire at the end ot the season and United want a permanent replacement for the Frenh international while Alexander Buttner would be understudy for the new signing.

United have also been linked with Everton star Leighton Baines, Southampton yougster Luke Shaw and Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis but with Real Madrid ready to let Coentrao leave, the Portuguese looks the most affordable choice.

The Portuguese international has made only six La Liga appearances this season and is likely to quit Spain to regain his first-team spot.

Despite his lack of club appearances Coentrao manages to keep a high profile and is ready to make the trip to Brazil for next summer's World Cup.
