Vampire Diaries season 7
Damon and Stefan will go through hell after being stabbed by Julian and Nora CW

The Elena-less Vampire Diaries season 7 is bringing multiple highpoints to keep its fans glued to the series that has started losing its charm. If introducing a new band of heretics and their deadly missions and Caroline conceiving Jo and Alaric's unborn twins were not enough, the latest mid-season finale episode went a step further when both Damon and Stefan Salvatore were stabbed with the Phoenix stone dagger by their mother's lover Julian and heretic Nora.

The scene has led to many speculations about whether both the Salvatore brothers will be dead forever or if they will be revived. The promo of episode 10 titled Hell Is Other People was released by CW and it reveals that Bonnie will revive the elder Salvatore's soul by using the Phoenix stone and inform him that he has been dead for the last three months.

On the other hand, Stefan's revival seems like a difficult task as his body has been captured by Julian who is planning to burn the body so that he cannot get back to life.

Executive producer Caroline Dries, meanwhile, has told TV Line that the upcoming episode will be of a "really cool concept" and be packed with emotions. The promo of the upcoming episode also teases that Damon poses a threat to Caroline's unborn twins but according to Dries, the babies will come out of her womb safely no matter what. "The babies inside Caroline will have to come out sooner or later."

Upon returning, the show will introduce a new vampire hunter Rayna, played by NCIS actress Leslie-Anne Huff. Her resemblance with Nina Dobrev has made everyone wonder if she is the doppelganger of the sleeping beauty Elena.

"That's definitely just a coincidence. We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina.' I was convinced otherwise. I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person. She's a great actress, and she's perfect for the role. We'll get to see her present-day story and then everything will click when you see her in the future," Dries told TV Line.
