Will The Walking Dead Season 5 feature a completely new cast? Well, the show's executive producer Scott M Gimple definitely seems to be hinting towards that.
According to Moviepilot, Gimple revealed that Season 5 of the zombie drama might not focus on the current cast.
"It's knowing thematically where you're going, knowing what you want to achieve, but almost accounting for expansion from that -- having an end in mind that's flexible," Gimple said. "And even, I would say, our show could keep going as a story, but it would be a new story."
The producer then spoke about the chances of different people coming along at some point.
"The characters that we have, we would tell all of their stories but use the environment to tell new characters' stories," Gimple said. "But that's wishful thinking that things would go on and on and on and on."
It remains to be seen what really transpires when the series returns in October 2014.
Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly during an earlier interview that the show is up to different challenges and that he can't wait to reveal more details on the new season:
"We're doing new and different and crazy and exciting things and now I think the atmosphere is that we can't wait until we can start sharing things to people because we're really excited about what we're doing here," he said. "We think we're making another magical season."
