With each passing season, Rick Grimes's leadership has been questioned by his own team. But his violent killing instinct in season 6 is going to bring deadly consequences to his group Alexandria Safe Zone. In season 6 finale, Rick and his team was kneeled before the ruthless leader of Savior group — Negan. Andrew Lincoln has now hinted at a 'super badass conflict' between his character and Negan.

"If we follow the comic book, then there's a super badass conflict between Negan and us, and I think that's certainly something that I think will trump anything we've attempted before in the show," Lincoln told Vulture.

The show is based on Robert Kirkman's graphic novel of the same name and many parts of the comic book have been implemented in the series. Referring to the novel, the British actor added: "From the comic books, the thing I really liked is that the world expands and you meet all these different communities. And each community is different -- they're benevolent, they're oppressive -- but they're described by the leader and how they set up their own philosophies and ideology."

The show is set to introduce new societies, who have formed their own rules to survive in the world swarmed by zombies. But while they are flourishing in their self-made gated community, Rick's violent attitude has only made his team weaker with each episode. In season 6 he killed few of Negan's men angering the Savior leader to seek revenge.

The notorious new antagonist has vowed to avenge the death of his men and fans know that he will do it in the goriest way possible. And as previously teased by the show's producers and actors this will change the dynamics of the zombie horror thriller in future. A major character is going to succumb to Negan's deadly blows and this will have a deep impact on Rick.

It remains to be seen how Lincoln's character will gather up his morale and fight with Negan. The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere on 23 October on AMC.
