A police officer and a group of civilians in Alaska have saved a trapped driver's life by lifting a burning car off him. The dramatic moment was caught on a police dashcam in Anchorage on 15 May.

The video shows the officer running towards the burning car, and gathering a group of passers-by to help move the vehicle. A number of people then proceeded to lift the car, and the man eventually escapes.

While trapped, the man can be heard screaming in horror as the flames grow bigger. After being freed, he said: "I thought I was going to die, and you guys saved my life."

According to local media reports, the driver had his arm trapped underneath the vehicle. He suffered a broken arm, and possible smoke inhalation.
