NCIS season 13 returns from hiatus with an all-new episode where First Lady Michelle Obama will guest star as herself. Episode 22 is titled, Homefront, which will air on 3 May at 9pm EST on the CBS Network.
The official synopsis of the episode reads as follows:
The episode will be set in the White House, as First Lady Obama welcomes Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the wife of a Marine for a Joining Forces round table. According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, "Obama will appear as herself on an upcoming episode of the procedural, which will feature a roundtable on the Joining Forces initiative that she co-founded with Dr. Jill Biden in 2011. "
The CBS series is the first film production to shoot inside the White House. Showrunner Gary Glasberg spoke to TV Line about First Lady Obama's special appearance and said, "It was a dream for many of us. She was fantastic."
The episode will lead up to the season finale, as Sarah Clarke and Duane Henry debut as FBI and MI-6 agents who will assist in the Jacob Scott manhunt. The report teased that amid all the drama, an NCIS colleague will be fighting for life in ICU, thereby "continuing to build towards Tony's departure".
