Residents in Bonita Springs in Florida were shocked to see a video of an eight foot (2.4 metre) bull shark swimming in the back waters behind a row of houses.

NBC2 reports that this is not the first sighting of sharks in the residential area and it is believed that they are attracted by bait used for fishing.

Residents are now asking the city to prohibit fishing in the area and declare it as a swimming-only area.
