Shawn Mendes will hit the road in 2017 as the pop star embarks on his Illuminate World Tour. Fans in the UK will hear the pop star perform tracks from his new album Illuminate live for the first time when the jaunt kicks off in April.

The Stitches singer has three UK dates lined-up so far with a show each taking place in Manchester, Glasgow and London over spring / summer. Tickets go on sale at 10am on 16 September and are available from Ticketmaster and Mendes' official website.

The 18-year-old has become one of the most promising pop acts over the last couple of years with his debut album Handwritten topping the US Billboard 200 charts in 2015, following his breakout hit Stitches.

Mendes has since dominated the airwaves with his follow-up singles Treat You Better, Mercy and I Know What You Did Last Summer featuring Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello.

Sharing his excitement for the upcoming tour, Mendes told Capital FM: "Touring is the number one way of figuring out where to take the music. You see what fans react to, what they like. I really created this music picturing it being performed live."

Mendes' Illuminate album is set for release on 23 September 2016.
