He is one of the most well-connected men in music so it comes as no surprise that rumours are suggesting BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw will be bringing his model friend Kate Moss to The X Factor.

The Breakfast Show host is widely speculated to be replacing Louis Walsh as a judge on the ITV singing competition and reports claim he is considering inviting Moss, 40, to join him at the judges' houses stage.

A source told The Daily Star: "Simon has asked Grimmy to put gentle pressure on her to take part. Although it's unlikely she would ever become a judge, Kate may help Grimmy choose final contestants at the judges' houses.

"Simon knows Kate would never reveal the 'mystery' that makes up Moss by talking much on telly. The chemistry between Grimmy and Kate could be a magic."

Grimshaw, 30, has spoken out about the rumours for the first time admitting that he would "love" to join Simon Cowell's hit talent series.

According to The Mirror, the radio DJ told reporters at the Global Fashion Awards in London: "[The rumours are] nothing but speculation which pretty much everyone's, who has had anything to do with music, names have been involved.

"So there's nothing more to that so far."

He added: "I would like to do it. I love the show. But loads of people I've read will be really good. Robbie [Williams] would be great and Simon and Cheryl [Fernandez-Versini] if they are back.

"I loved Katy Perry too when she was a guest judge and Rita [Ora]."

Departing X Factor judge, Walsh, appears to have confirmed Grimmy's spot on the panel, telling the Press Association: "So you're a DJ and now you're going to be a judge. Nothing wrong with two jobs."

The 62-year-old also offered advice to the DJ on his reported new job, adding: "I think [he] should start wearing some better clothes, change the haircut and off you go."
