The X factor stars has bagged themselves a record deal just months after coming fourth on the ITV talent contest.

X Factor hopefuls Union J have bagged a lucrative recording deal with RCA Records.

The boyband, which is made up of member Jamie 'JJ' Hamblett , Josh Cuthbert , James William "Jaymi" Hensley and George Shelley, have signed with the label which which represents the likes of R Kelly, Usher and Pink.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be signed to RCA," the group said. "Being on X Factor was such a great experience and the perfect way for us to start our musical journey.

"Hopefully 2013 will be an amazing year for us and we cannot wait for everyone to hear our music."

Shelley joined the group, orinially know as Triple J, after the bootcamp stage of the show.

The group placed fourth on the ITV talent show last year after narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.

The four-piece now join other 2012 acts including James Arthur, sixth-place finisher Ella Henderson and runner-up Jahmene Douglas who have all recieved recording deals.

Union J are expected to release their first single in June.
