Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact get new Android 4.4.4 stock firmware with build 23.0.1.A.5.77 [FTF links]
Sony has released a new stock firmware build based on Android 4.4.4 for the latest Xperia series lineup.
The update bumps the build version of Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact from 23.0.A.2.105 to 23.0.1.A.5.77. It is currently live for Xperia Z3 variants D6603 and D6653 and for Xperia Z3 Compact such as D5803 and D5833.
To check the availability of the update, navigate to Settings>> About phone>> Software updates>> System updates.
Sony is yet to make the official changelog available for the new Android 4.4. build. Several members at the XDA forum have confirmed the update. According to the unofficial changelog shared at the forum, the update brings following changes:
- New launcher with a new animation
- Google Search is easy to remove from Homescreen
- In settings submenu "About Phone" there is a new link for Diagnostic app
- New Boot Logo with more Google and Android presence
The members have also shared the Android 4.4.4 (23.0.1.A.5.77) FTF download links for both the Xperia smartphones. Using the Sony Flash tool, the new firmware can be installed on the smartphones.
