Samsung Galaxy S4
Android Lollipop OS update. Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S4 users in France can check out their devices for new OTA notifications that represent the much expected Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS update.

According to a TalkAndroid report, the Android Lollipop is currently active to all unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones in France, and owners of the handset should observe the OS update in the form of a bulky 730MB file.

Galaxy S4 users should also notice the latest update bearing version number 7.18.521.2, available via OTA.

Also, as per the TalkAndroid report, Google's latest firmware update is applicable to only carrier-unlocked variants of Samsung Galaxy S4 and not to carrier-specific Galaxy S4 editions in France.

Prior to the latest rollout, the Google Android Lollipop OS update had rolled out to certain carrier-driven Galaxy S4 smartphones in the US, to the Moto G (2014) in the Netherlands and to certain high-end smartphones in the UK.

Prior to Android Lollipop, Samsung's Galaxy S4 ran the now outdated Android 4.2.2 (JellyBean) operating platform, out of the box.

What's new?

Owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 in France can check out for newer functionality such as 3D animation effects, improved notifications, the Material Design user interface, ambient display feature, new lock screen notifications, battery saver feature, and a new task-manager interface that consolidates all apps at the same location.

Post installation, users can also check out the Latest "OK Google" voice command, Android Beam and many other newer aspects.
