Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly planning to adopt a child from Syria.

According to Express, the couple who are already parents to six children, three of whom are biological and the rest adopted from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia, are eager to add to their brood from the war-torn region for some time.

"She has been moved to tears on several occasions over the plight of youngsters orphaned in the Syrian conflict," a source close to the couple said.

"Now she has sorted out her health issues, she and Brad believe the time is right to adopt another orphan from there, most likely a daughter," the insider added.

In March, the 39-year-old Academy Award winning actress revealed that she has had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to prevent the onset of ovarian cancer. As a result of the surgery, she is now unable to biologically have children.

"This is something that has become very close to their hearts. They would like to accomplish it, if possible, before the end of summer because, even though they are both busy, their diaries are relatively light for most of 2015," the source said. "Angelina's feeling good about turning 40 in June with a clean bill of health but what will make her happiness complete is seeing a new little face at the dinner table," a friend added.
