A few technical specifications for Apple's upcoming iPad Pro featuring a 12.9in screen have leaked.

The iPad Pro has been rumoured to enter production line in the second quarter of next year. The new leak revealing the hardware features confirms that Apple is indeed gearing up for the launch of the large sized tablet.

The previous A5 and A6 chipsets introduced by Apple comes with follow-up versions such as A5X and A6X. The A7 chip that debuted last year did not have a successor like previous chips.

The A8 chip, with second generation 64-bit desktop-class architecture for faster performance and efficiency powering both the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, will have a successor that will be used inside the iPad Pro.

According to the disclosure made by Taiwan site, TechNews after obtaining information from its sources, Apple will pack A8X SoC (system-on-chip).

The A8X chip is believed to be an enhanced version of the A8 processor and will be manufactured with the help of TSMC, adds Gforgames. Currently, there are no details as to what improvements the A8X chip will integrate.

The report further suggests that iPad Air 2 will pack 2GB RAM and Apple's Touch ID fingerprint identification feature. The new leak highlights the specifications which have been rumoured on several occasions such as larger speakers, smaller camera lens, which will be fixed in a different location and a thinner design.
