Mesut Ozil
Mesut Ozil is showing glimpses of genius for Arsenal, according to Santi Cazorla.

Santi Cazorla has joined a growing Arsenal chorus to laud Mesut Ozil's skills with the Spain international questioning why Real Madrid would want to part with such a 'genius' player.

Ozil's move to the Gunners on deadline day signalled a complete turnaround in the mood at the Emirates, with the side's results vastly improving as well as the fans opinion of Arsene Wenger's transfer policy.

His service to the strikers has pushed Arsenal into the possibility of challenging for the title once more and the club currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, with 16 points from seven games.

For Cazorla, the acquisition has brought him to believe that Arsenal have found a player who wants to take the club to a new level like himself. And he admitted that it was difficult to find logic in why Madrid would be so willing to let go of the 24-year-old but insisted they must have their reasons.

He told AS: "He's a superb signing for Arsenal, a player who arrived with a lot of humility and wanting to do something important. He's a different player with bits of genius.

"Madrid's president has done great things for the club by signing spectacular players. Sure there will be people upset about it, but without knowing more than what I read, they have their reasons."

Madrid appeared to be more willing to let go of Ozil after they signed Gareth Bale for a record-breaking fee. But the former Tottenham has struggled after suffering a back injury that has led to many conflicting reports over the source of the problem.

The Spanish giants are currently third in the La Liga table and are five points behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. They are waiting on more information over when Bale will be available to play again and have been the subject of much criticism from their own players for letting Ozil go to Arsenal.
