Numerous papers are currently discussing the possibility of a Tottenham exit for Gareth Bale, and after Fabio Capello resigned from the England post last night leaving the position open for Harry Redknapp, the rumours look likely to get stronger as summer moves closer.

The Daily Express and the Daily Mail both claim that Bale is set for a Spanish move, and that Barcelona will fund the big purchase by selling a group of youngsters to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Tottenham would be loath to let go of one of their best stars, and after Spurs were tested last summer and kept hold of Luka Modric, they would no doubt drive a hard bargain to get hold of Bale.

But Barcelona have also shown to be particularly shrewd in the transfer market, and their relentless pursuit of Cesc Fabregas over a matter of years is an example of just how far the club will go to land their desired target.

And today, despite Redknapp looking likely to leave Tottenham come summer, the Daily Mirror is claiming that Bale will in fact stay at White Hart Lane and commit his future to the club.

Barcelona reportedly don't want to pay more than £35 million for Bale, but after Tottenham turned down a £40 million bid from Chelsea for Modric in last summer's deadline day, that figure looks unlikely to be agreed to by Daniel Levy.

Bale was the subject of some interest last year from Barcelona, after his stellar performances in the Champions League. But interest became quiet over the summer, and with Bale suffering from an ongoing back injury, he was always set to stay at Tottenham for another season at least.

But that could be different this time around, with Bale's form currently at its best, and his injury looking unlikely to flare up again.
