Prince Harry's girlfriend Cressida Bonas may soon have body guards as the bond between the couple is getting stronger.

According to a report in Daily Star, talks are being held at top levels to strategically safeguard the young couple in the best possible way.

Bonas, a 24-year-old model and dance student, could soon be accompanied by taxpayer-funded protection officers to high-profile events, say the security aides.

The high-security offered to only months-old girlfriend of the 28-year-old royal, comes after a number of recent threats directed at him.

"We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping," a Taliban spokesperson said in a statement in September last year.

"The fear factor has gone up now Harry is back in England and going out and about. He is at greater risk now than when he was on the frontline as he is in public more and around people," a Whitehall source told the Web site.

"Security services have already uncovered several plots to target him. Harry is more exposed in Britain as he goes out to bars and clubs. Cressida is close to him and we have to deal with that," the source added.

The seriousness of the threat on the army officer was declared as "severe" after he admitted killing Taliban fighters during his Afghanistan tour which ended in January, the report said.

Under the light of the threats to the prince, Prime Minister David Cameron has held discussions with Sir John Sawers and Jonathan Evans, the chiefs of MI6, and MI5 respectively.

Also, the last two weeks have seen discussions held at MI5 headquarters the Cabinet Office for the protection of the younger of the royal siblings and his girlfriend.

The source has further said that the Apache helicopter pilot at present is at more risk than ever and that means people associated with him could be at risk as well.
