Inter Milan have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race for Blackpool winger Tom Ince.

The 21-year-old is now one of the most sought after young talents in English football and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Seasiders in the summer, with his former club Liverpool understood to be the leading contender for his services.

However, having signed the player's father and current Blackpool manager Paul Ince from Manchester United back in 1995, Inter are now plotting a summer approach to bring the £7m-rated England U-21 star to the Giuseppe Mazza, according to the Mirror.

Ince made 44 Championship appearances for Blackpool this season, with 18 goals and 14 assists to his name. The youngster, who can play either in the centre or on the left of midfield, was part of the Liverpool academy since 2008 and left Anfield for the Seasiders in 2011, after failing to break into the Reds' first team.

Tottenham Hotspur are also understood to be keen on snapping up Ince this summer. The report claims Ince Sr feels his son is too young to move to an overseas club and might prefer a switch to a Premier League club instead.

Gerrard: Operation was a Success

Meanwhile, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard revealed his shoulder surgery was a success.

The Reds skipper recently went under the knife to correct a long-standing shoulder problem and has now stated there were no complications during the operation.

"I'm very well - the operation was a success according to the surgeon. The operation was straightforward; it was something I've been struggling with since January. It did need fixing. I just need to get my rehab in place over the summer and I'll be fine for next year," Gerrard told the club web site.

Despite carrying the injury, the Reds skipper made 36 Premier League appearances this season, scoring nine goals and making nine assists.
