West Ham Want Udinese Striker to Complete New Look Strike Force

West Ham United have been named as one of a number of Premier League clubs looking to bring Udinese striker Matej Vydra back to England on a loan deal.

The Czech Republic international impressed while representing Watford on loan last season as the club fell at the final hurdle when trying to gain promotion to the top flight. Vydra scored 20 goals and made it clear that he would like to test himself at the highest level in England.

There was a feeling that Vydra would have remained at Watford had they got promoted but it now seems he is destined to return with another club as Udinese are prepared to allow him to leave on loan once again.

Vydra has been linked with several Premier League clubs who were seemingly keen to recruit him on a permanent basis but it seems the Italian club will only allow him to leave in the short term.

The agent of the 21 year old, Ondrej Chovanec, has held talks with Udinese and Watford owner Giampaolo Pozzo and told isport.blesk.cz: "We agreed that none of the offers (for a permanent transfer) are in the region that would interest Udinese.

"They don't want to sell him for £8million, so they have given us freedom to discuss loan spells with the Premier League clubs that are interested. At the moment we have offers from four Premier League clubs - West Brom, West Ham, Swansea and Sunderland.

"At Udinese they don't want Matej to have to get used to life in a different country, so now it seems likely that he will be playing on in England."

West Ham have already signed one striker in Andy Carroll but it seems manager Sam Allardyce is keen to further bolster his attacking options after Carlton Cole was allowed to leave the club when his contract expired.

Modibo Maiga is the only other recognised central striker but he struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and it seems Allardyce would instead like to partner Carroll with the lively Vydra.
