Kate Middleton is reportedly breast-feeding her son, Prince George of Cambridge. The Duchess of Cambridge is believed to be eager to experience every aspect of motherhood.

The 31-year-old duchess gave birth to George on 22 July, in the Lindo wing of London's St Mary's Hospital. The royal baby, christened George Alexander Louis, is third in line to the throne.

"It would be fair to say that Prince George has a healthy appetite. He is a very hungry little boy," a senior royal source told the Sunday People, "I gather there were some difficulties at first - there often can be, as new mums can get a little tense.

"But after some help from the midwife, they both caught on very quickly. As far as I can tell, Kate finds it very relaxing and George is just like any other little baby. He can't get enough. And they all certainly know when he's hungry - his screams are very difficult to ignore."

However, the source added that the new mother would offer no formal support to people lobbying for breast-feeding of babies. There was considerable debate in the run up to George's birth over whether the duchess would hand her child off to a royal wet-nurse or feed through formula.

"[But] don't expect Kate to be photographed breast-feeding. She does not want to become a pin-up for the breast-feeding lobby. She feels that it is a matter of personal choice, and that new mums should do whatever feels right for them and their baby," the insider added.

Kate's decision, though, is probably not a surprise. Recent royal history shows a trend towards natural feeding. The late Diana, Princess of Wales, reportedly insisted on breast-feeding both Prince William and Prince Harry and, according to the Mail Online, both the Queen Mother and the Queen also believed in breast-feeding.

Spice Girl Offer

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham (former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer) is believed to be keen to swap post-pregnancy tales with the duchess. Victoria is mother to four children with former Manchester United, Real Madrid and England midfielder David Beckham.

"Victoria and Kate have had a strong friendship for some time now and Victoria was very keen to offer a helping hand," an insider told the Daily Star, "She knows all about raising children in front of the media and the pressures it can have on family life.

"Sadly, Kate's not in a position to go out for regular mummy lunches with her friends," the source added, "It's more likely that Victoria will visit Kate at her home with baby Harper. She thinks their kids could develop a great friendship in the future, just like her and Kate."

The Beckhams were present for Prince William and Kate Middleton's fairy-tale wedding back in April 2011 and the Duke of Cambridge and the former LA Galaxy midfielder worked together during the United Kingdom's bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the London 2012 Olympics.
