Sevilla have confirmed that Timothée 'Kolo' Kolodziejczak will miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on 22 May, after the club's appeal against the red card he received against Athletic Bilbao proved unsuccessful. José Antonio Reyes and Adil Rami, however, could be available for selection despite the former missing the Europa League final victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night, while the second was replaced substituted off for Kolodziejczak himself.

Unai Emery is expected to have at least three players unavailable when his side face Barcelona, as former Stoke City midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is also suspended, while long-term absentee Michael Krohn-Dehli remains on the sidelines after he broke his left knee last month.

Kolodziejczak had been banned for four matches after allegedly shouting "son of a bitch" to one of the match officials during the final La Liga game of the campaign. Sevilla appealed in an attempt to have the Frenchman available against Barcelona, but the club have now confirmed the appeal was unsuccessful.

The centre-back did not make the line-up against Liverpool but has been a crucial player in the Sevilla's defence throughout the season, making a total of 50 appearances. His absence is a blow for Emery as he was expected to play a role against Barcelona, allowing either Daniel Carriço or Remy to rest after their demanding Europa League final,.

Sevilla have now confirmed through their official website that Kolodziejczak is definitely out for the Sunday game but were more positive about Rami, claiming he trained "without any problem in the gym and even made some runs on the pitch". Reyes, meanwhile, was also in the workout with the rest of the group and is also expected to be available.

Emery will have to restructure his midfield though as N'Zonzi is also suspended, after the former Stoke star saw a red card in the Copa del Rey semi-final against Celta Vigo. With Krohn-Dehli also out for the game due to his long-term injury, Vicente Iborra looks in line to make the midfield against Barcelona alongside Ever Banega and Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Meanwhile, the rest of the line-up is expected to be similar to the one that beat Liverpool on Wednesday night, although Sergio Rico will replace David Soria between the sticks as the Spanish international is first choice for the Copa del Rey. Furthermore, Yevhen Konoplyanka could also play a part against Barcelona after he was unused substitute in Basel.
