The Big Bang Theory season 8 spoilers: Sheldon and Amy to take their relationship to a new level in episode 17

The Big Bang Theory's new episode will see Sheldon and Amy taking their relationship to a new level by adopting a turtle together.

Episode 17 is titled, The Colonization Application, which will air on 5 March, 2015 on CBS.

The official synopsis reads as follows:

Amy and Sheldon decide to get a turtle together, while Sheldon is planning on going to Mars. Leonard and Penny don't want to be a boring couple and Raj is snooping around Emily's apartment.

In the last episode, Sheldon and Penny take the experimental love test, which does not make them fall in love, but they do trade secrets with each other, which includes Sheldon's birth date.

According to spoilers, Amy and Sheldon announce that they are taking their relationship to the next level which really confuses Leonard and Penny. Later, they reveal they are getting a pet together, a turtle.

While Penny looks for champagne, Leonard wonders how nobody would have thought that Amy and Sheldon would be the first couple in their group to start a family.

In the pet store, Sheldon announces that he is applying to be one of the first colonists on Mars, much to Amy's surprise.

Sheldon explains that he has applied to be one of the first humans to be sent to Mars and he thinks it's reasonable that someone with his intellect will be going, but Amy is not happy.

Sheldon and Amy return from the pet store without the turtle because it bites him. Amy wonders how he can survive another planet when he barely survives a turtle bite.
