Calvin Harris congratulated Taylor Swift for her big win at the 2016 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on 15 February in Los Angeles. The 26-year-old singer's 1989 won the coveted album of the year award, making her the first woman to win the award twice. She also won the best pop vocal album and best music video for her track Bad Blood.

Rita Ora's former boyfriend, who was absent at the award ceremony, posted a photo of Swift accepting her album of the year award on Instagram. He captioned the image: "Congratulations to my beautiful girlfriend."

The couple were spotted together at the Republic Records Party after the event. An eyewitness told People: "She was sitting on his lap and they were super affectionate. There was a mob of people around them."

During the show, Harry Styles' former girlfriend lashed out at her critics in her acceptance speech. She said: "And as the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to the young woman out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame."

"But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you will look around and you will know it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world," she said.
