The Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, held a news conference in London prior to his formal

acceptance of this year's Templeton Prize, worth £1.1 Million pounds.

The Templeton Prize is the world's largest annual monetary award given to an individual. The Dalai Lama is being honoured for his long standing engagement with multiple dimensions of science and with people far beyond his own religious traditions. He accepted the award with great humility and said

His holiness was then asked by Jonathan Dimbleby what he will do with the award money.

The Dalai Lama will be officially awarded with the Templeton Prize in the main part of St.Paul's Cathedral. The ceremony will feature the multi-Grammy Award-winning vocalist Jessye Norman, the St.Paul's Cathedral choir and there will also be traditional chanting by Buddhist monks.
