Eight Men have been arrested in connection with a £1.3m robbery of a branch of Barclays that involved taking control of one of the bank's computers.

Money was taken from the Branch in Swiss Cottage, north London, on 5 April this year. A probe was launched after a Keyboard Video Mouse Switch, a device that allows workers to access their computer systems remotely, was found attached to a 3G router.

The gang are aged between 24 and 47 and have remained in police custody since Thursday. Po-lice have already seized thousands of credit cards and personal data, with Barclays saying it was able to recover a significant amount of stolen money.

The arrests come after a similar plot was foiled earlier this month to siphon millions from a com-puter of a south London branch of Santander.
