Empire season 2 may have gone on a long hiatus till March 2016 but actors Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard will return with a special musical episode this Wednesday, 9 December, at 9pm ET/PT on Fox Network.
Empire's lead stars will host music and variety special "Taraji and Terrence's White Hot Holidays", which will feature special performances by Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx and John Legend. Empire stars Bryshere "Yazz" Gray and Jussie Smollett will also perform at the event.
According to Fox: "Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard spread cheer, goodwill and some holiday magic in an all-new music and variety special featuring modern performances of classic holiday songs by entertainment superstars Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Jamie Foxx, among other surprise guests and performances. The special also will feature a duet by Henson and Howard."
Taraji shared a behind-the-scene shot of the special event on Instagram. She wrote: "Rehearsals are underway for Taraji and Terrence's #WhiteHotHolidays. Tune in this Wednesday at 9/8c on FOX!"
The Empire actress also shared a video of Smollett rehearsing for the event and wrote: "Rehearsals for our #whitehotholidays @jussiesmollett voice brings tears to my eyes @theterrencehoward is in his feelings and @michaelbearden tickling the keys and trying to keep us focused! I can NOT wait for y'all to see this special show!"
