Police have shot a man dead in Enfield, London Reuters

A man has been shot dead by police in Enfield, north London. Police were called to an address in Barnet at around 9.35pm on 30 August after a male was reported to be making threats to kill and in possession "of what was believed to be a firearm." The man left the scene before police arrived.

Armed officers later arrived at an address at Picardy House, Cedar Road, Enfield where "a white male was shot by police outside the address" shortly before 11.30pm. He was believed to be 43-years-old and was pronounced dead at the scene. No further arrests have been made and there are no further reported injuries.

Authorities have confirmed that "a non-police firearm has been recovered from the scene". The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating further.
