Japan face Greece in a Group C clash of the 2014 World Cup at Estadio das Dunas, Natal on Thursday.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 11pm BST. Live coverage is on BBC One. Radio commentary of the game will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Overview

Japan suffered a 2-1 defeat in their opening World Cup clash against Ivory Coast on Sunday in Recife. Keisuke Honda scored a stunner for the Asian side just after the quarter hour mark and dominated the first half.

However, two goals in the space of two minutes during the second half – first from Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony followed by AS Roma's Gervinho saw the African nation make a comeback to win the first game.

Greece also faced a defeat in their opening game against Colombia. The South American giants registered a comfortable 3-0 victory against a side, which was struggling to trouble the Colombia's defence.

With both Japan and Greece losing their opening games, the tie between the two sides on Thursday should be entertaining. The losing team will end their dream of progressing to the next round of the summer tournament in Brazil.

What Managers Say

Alberto Zaccheroni (Japan): "We weren't aggressive enough and we need to improve on that because we've been playing better than that – and we can play better than that – and we'll work on that in our next two games."

Fernando Santos (Greece): "That is football. Sometimes football brings bad things. But now we have to think positively. We have to forget what happened and look forward to making history. That means going forward in the World Cup. And for that, we have only one option, which is facing this match against Japan seriously as we always do and try to win it."
