At least 27 people have been injured as four separate explosions rocked the Ukraine.

9 children were caught up in the blasts – in the eastern city of Dnipropetrovsk during the morning rush hour. This is the scene of one of the blasts: a tram stop. Police officials confirmed that a device left in a bin exploded just as a tram was leaving the station. Windshields were smashed to bits injuring passengers and a passing car was damaged in the blast.

No-one's claimed responsibility for the attacks which have been described the Ukrainian prosecutor's general office as 'acts of terrorism'. However a leading member of the Opposition Party claims the attack is being used to deflect the world's attention from their head of their party - Yulia Tymoshenko - who's been on hunger strike for a week after she was allegedly violently beaten by prison guards.
