Islamic State (Isis) supporters on Twitter have been hacked and their accounts flooded with images of gay porn on their profiles containing slogans like "I'm gay and proud" in the wake of the Orlando attack. The hacker, known as WauchulaGhost, has also added graphic gay porn to profiles on the micro-blogging site.

It comes after so-called "Pornbots" swamped the accounts of jihadi sympathisers where accounts had their profile pictures changed to images of semi-naked men embracing and the Rainbow Flag that signifies LGBT pride.

Islamist sympathisers have used Twitter and other social media sites to spread their own brand of brutal jihad hoping to entice angry westerners to join the terrorists. Since 2015, Twitter claims they have shut down more than 125,000 accounts promoting extremism.

Vigilante hacker WauchulaGhost does not reveal his real name and says only that they are based in the US and that they were sparked into action after Omar Mateen massacred at least 49 people in a gay club in Florida.

"I did it for the lives lost in Orlando," the hacker told Newsweek. "Daesh (another name for ISIS) have been spreading and praising the attack, so I thought I would defend those that were lost. The taking of innocent lives will not be tolerated."

The gay images are highly offensive to the extreme brand of Islam that IS supporters follow. And the hacker said they declined to post graphic porn images as they did not want to offend ordinary Muslims.

"One thing I do want to say is we aren't using graphic porn and our purpose is not to offend Muslims," WachulaGhost continued. "Our actions are directed at Jihadist extremists."

On 7 June, vigilante hackers spammed pro-IS accounts with thousands of graphic porn images. The covert computer experts were using Twitter to follow supporters with accounts known as "Pornbots".

The Pornbots show randomly-generated graphic sexual images automatically but the accounts cannot be deleted as spam as they never tweet. It would seem that the hackers targeted accounts who have shown support for the jihadists using certain hashtags.
