Apple iPad 3
Apple is holding a media event on 7 March, where it is widely predicted to announce the iPad 3 Apple

The rumour mills are spinning faster than ever, given that the release of the iPad 3 is only a few hours away. The speculations have also been fuelled by a litany of leaked parts and photographs.

The latest reports, from MIC Gadget, include a video that shows front glass, rear shell and third-party cases that fit the anticipated tablet. The video shows only exterior assembly. If nothing, the video reiterates earlier reports suggesting a slightly thicker shell, larger camera lens and slightly more tapered design elements.

The existing iPad 2 magnetic Smart Covers will work with the new design of the iPad 3, according to MIC Gadget.

The site also believes the iPad 3 will feature Siri - the popular voice assistant that made waves with the release of the iPhone 4S.

Meanwhile, a rumour from Business Insider points to a translated report from a French newspaper, Le Figaro, which says Virgin will be vacating its landmark retail store on Champs-Elysees in Paris and that Apple could purchase the spot.

The store is roughly 75,000 sq ft, with about 50,000 sq ft dedicated to sales. Apple's largest flagship retail stores - at Regent Street and Covent Garden in London - offer just 25,000 sq ft of space.

Even if Apple opts to buy only a portion of the Paris space, it could certainly translate into one of its largest retail stores... and that too in a prominent location. The fact that Apple are interested in purchasing the space is based in a report from Hardmac, which speaks of Tim Cook's visit to Paris, earlier this week.
