Jennifer Lopez has blamed her diva ways and huge entourage for her relationship break-ups with former husband Marc Anthony and ex fiancé Ben Affleck.

The Love Don't Cost A Thing singer has admitted having an army of make-up and hair stylists at her beck and call alienated the men in her life, rather than the constant media intrusion.

"Forget about all the outside stuff, being judged, being under scrutiny in the relationship...I guess that adds in...but I think they would say that [the entourage] was a big part of their discomfort, if there was any", she told news anchor Hoda Kotb while promoting her book, 'True Love', in New York.

Lopez also described how her divorce from Anthony had a painful knock-on effect on her six-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who were then three.

"You don't really say anything to a three-year-old, because they don't really understand anything is happening . . . I remember like maybe after Marc wasn't in the house for about eight months, Max saying something because my dad came over," she said.

"It was so painful . . . I go, 'That's my daddy,' and he goes, 'My daddy left me.' I said 'No, baby, your daddy didn't leave you. You know how my daddy goes home? Your daddy goes home, too'. You're just scrambling at that point. What can you say to a three-year-old?"

She admitted she has had therapy to deal with her issues: "You have to work on yourself . . . It's not talking to yourself in the bathroom, it's finding out what's really going on, digging down into the gooey, messy stuff . . . You have to face yourself sometimes, like OK, seriously, everything is not going perfect, what are you doing wrong? Me, not you, me."
