Korean Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge variants receive Android 5.1.1 update Samsung

Korean variants of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have just started receiving their first Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update via Korean telecom companies KT Corporation, SK Telecom and LG Uplus.

The new Android 5.1.1 update is yet to arrive on the Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5, while the international and T-Mobile variants of Galaxy S6 have received it long ago.

With the release of the Android 5.1.1 update for the Korean variants of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Samsung has completed the latest Lollipop rollout across all major markets for its flagship phones.

Meanwhile, AT&T and Verizon users of Galaxy S6 in the US have been hindered with Samsung failing to release any Lollipop updates for these smartphones. An earlier update blocked root exploits and prevented firmware download on devices running Android 5.0.

The Android 5.1.1 build for S6 and S6 Edge is likely to block the downgrade ability of the Korean variants as was the case with other S6 devices running Lollipop 5.1.1.

In addition, some users may face issues with installing the new Android 5.1.1 update via over-the-air (OTA). In such cases, users can try installing the same manually, using the direct download links provided below:
