Comedian Lee Evans is set to become the UK's highest paid stand-up comedian, earning over £8 million by the end of 2011.
With over 150,000 copies of his new DVD Roadrunner already being sold this week, Evans, 47, is going to be at the number one position in the DVD charts on Sunday, reports the Mirror.
According to the newspaper, Evans is outperforming his big competitor Peter Kay, and is expected to sell more than 500,000 copies of the DVD by Christmas.
"After the year he has had he never needs to work again - he is now officially our top stand-up. But Lee loves performing and he will be back again next year," a source told the newspaper.
Early this year, a deal to pen his autobiography, "The Life of Lee", fetched him £1.5 million and over 97,000 copies have been sold.
