Luis Suarez's eight-match ban over the racism row involving Patrice Evra may have come as a moral victory for Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United. But again, there is nothing called poetic justice in football.

When the two clubs clashed for the first time at Anfield since their face-off in October which sparked a bitter row, Liverpool snatched a decisive 2-1 victory over the Red Devils. Kenny Dalglish's side once again proved that they can stand up to any challenge under any amount of pressure. The Reds progressed into the fifth round of of the FA Cup on Saturday night.

Daniel Agger netted in the opener on 21 minutes through a smart header. But United drew level on 39 minutes through Ji-Sung Park. Dirk Kuyt scored the dramatic winner for Liverpool just two minutes from time.

United dominated midfield for most of the game, but Liverpool's defence line-up was formidable enough to contain any eventuality.
