Lumia Denim, WiFi calling, VoLTE rolling out to Microsoft Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL smartphones across the world

Users of the Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL can check their handsets for a new software update released by the Redmond-based firm, that brings along the Lumia Denim, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) functionality along with other features such as Wi-Fi calling.

Microsoft has stated that the latest update is on a rolling out across the US in a phased manner.

For Microsoft Lumia 640

• Lumia 640 owners having subscribed to EE UK and T-Mobile US can check for the native Wi-Fi calling functionality.
• VoLTE compatibility active for Lumia 640 users on selected wireless carriers across the world.
• Enhancements to multiple aspects such as audio call quality, Wi-Fi, cellular connectivity, national roaming and overall stability.

For Microsoft Lumia 640 XL

• Lumia 640 XL users also get VoLTE support which selected operators have enabled.
• Activation of native W-Fi calling support for Lumia 640 XL users having subscribed to EE's wireless network in the UK.
• Enhancements to multiple aspects such as audio call quality, Wi-Fi, cellular connectivity, national roaming and overall stability.

Users need to navigate to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates to install the latest software.
