Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has refused to comment on suggestions made by Jose Mourinho that he will play a weakened team against Liverpool, saying that every manager will always do what's best for their team and that his only focus in on making sure the Citizens win their remaining games.

Mourinho has complained about Chelsea's top of the table clash against Liverpool being scheduled only three days before the Blues second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid, sparking suggestions he will play a weakend team at Anfield. Such an outcome could play against City, who are relying on the Reds to slip up if they are to revive their chances of winning the Premier League title.

But Pellegrini maintained that his only focus was for his side to win their remaining four games, starting with a trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
