Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has a cut mission from the very end of the game that acts as an ending for Konami's widely celebrated stealth action game. Remnants of the mission, including cut scenes, can be found on a Blu-Ray that comes with the PS4 Collector's Edition.

What is available on the disk has been uploaded to YouTube, where spoilers are abound, and shows the cut scenes that would have been included with the gameplay. It appears the mission was mostly finished, with a few parts using concept art to fill in the blanks.

Fans on the Metal Gear Solid sub-Reddit are wondering whether to "demand" a restoration of the cut content from Konami, with many users debating whether they would pay for DLC completing the story with this mission.

"Nothing against those who'll pay for it," said user LLYDizzle, "But I can't justify to myself giving money to a company that deliberately cut out an ending just to re-package it and sell if as additional DLC. That's the worst thing a gaming company can do IMO and a slap in the face to MGS fans everywhere."

"'I'll even take that. I'll swallow that pride and shell out the last few cents Konami takes from me," says Saint453.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been a big success for Konami critically and commercially, with big week one sales being confirmed. In the UK it reported the third biggest launch of the year so far and the largest for the series to date, based on data collected without digital download figures.
