Miranda Kerr flashed her engagement ring for the first time just days after Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel proposed marriage. The Victoria's Secret model was pictured with the huge diamond ring on Saturday while she was headed out for dinner at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

The 33-year-old model took to Instagram last week to announce her engagement to Spiegel. She shared a photo of her engagement ring with the caption: "I said yes!!!"

"They are extremely happy," a spokesperson for Spiegel, who is estimated to be worth a whopping $2.1bn (£1.5bn), said, according to The Daily Mail.

"Miranda is so excited to be engaged to Evan. She can't wait to marry him... Once they get married they will start trying for children. That's something they both want," an insider told E! Online.

"Evan surprised her when he proposed. It was done in a very romantic setting and he said very touching words while asking her."

Kerr and Spiegel started dating in June 2015 after meeting at a Louis Vuitton dinner in New York City in 2014.

Talking about the diamond ring, jewellery expert Michael O'Connor told Us Weekly: "Miranda's ring is the quintessence of classic style and understatement.

"It's a classic round diamond of about 2.5 carats. The value of the ring would be approximately $55,000. Despite the reported billions Spiegel's worth, the couple decided on a timeless style that proves they 'don't need to try.' After so many over-the-top rings, this understated, more meaningful ring may be the newest — and best! — we've seen in a while."

Kerr's former husband Orlando Bloom "is happy for Miranda".

"He spoke with and congratulated her," another source told E! Online. The former couple split in 2013 and share five-year-old son, Flynn.
